It's a GIRL thang...

Hello again bloggy friends and welcome back!! Glad to have ya.

Today I'm showing you a hair clip I made using a paper flower made by me and some YUMMY
Rumple Ribbon from Lovebug Creations. I LOVE the versatility of this ribbon. It comes to you RUMPLED, but you can do so much with it. Heck, you can even straighten it with a low temp hair straightener!!  Who knew???
Anywho... here is my hair clip...

I used Green Goddess and made lil leaves under the flower. A little lace and stamens add the perfect touch to this clip.

To find out more about Rumple Ribbon and to see the selection.. please visit LOVEBUG CREATIONS. Be sure to check out the " ON THE EDGE" colors too!!

Thanks for stopping by and come back again...

"LUCKY" wand

                                              Hey y'all and welcome back!!

So.. St.Patrick's Day is Sunday and I typically send a lil something for my son's pre-school class for darn near EVERY lil holiday. The more I thought about it the more I DIDN'T want candy. Well.. they just got a boat load for Valentine's and Easter is right around the corner so....

the "LUCKY WAND" was born!!
Twirl the wand and point for a lil luck. :)  My son asked me if it was a REAL magic wand. LOL.. Hmm.. I had to say no, but he could pretend it was. :)  He was cool with that idea. Shew... I had already made 14 by the time we had this conversation..

These lil guys were EASY to make and his class will LOVE them!!

I painted lollipop sticks.. let dry then cut shamrocks and the lil pot combo on my Cameo. I did buy the shamrock and the lil pot from the Sil store. I used glitter and glue to add some sparkle to the clovers and then glued on the pot. ( I STILL have glitter everywhere!!!  Lovin the sparkles everywhere.. hehe)  I made 2 shamrocks for each stick and glued them together after adding a lil ribbon. EASY PEASY!!!  The hardest thing was deciding what I wanted and then gluing the lil pieces on the money kettles.

So.. my mission is accomplished and I won't feel TOO bad when I send candy to school in the Easter goodies :)

Thank you for stopping by!!

HOPE mixed media

Hey y'all and welcome back. So glad to have you.
Most of you know, or have at least read here on my blog, that I am a HUGE Tracy Weinzapfel fan and have been for a while now. She is FUN, UPLIFTING, REAL, HONEST, INSPIRATIONAL.. and so much more. I could really keep going. Anyways.. she does Monday night Live Ustream  and before I ever saw her, I would have NEVER painted. Heck, I can't draw a stick man. LOL So, with different techniques and ideas outside the box.. painting has become a part of me. While most of you know my love for paper flowers, painting is not far behind. :)

She offers monthly challenges that really work our inner creativity as well as a "Yearly Word" about us. Simple.. pick a work to describe you.. or what you want for YOU for the year. Sounds easy right?? Yea, definitely gets your mind going. I love a good challenge and I really love thinking outside of the regular 4 equal sided box. That gets boring after a while.
More to the point.. (told ya I could keep going about Tracy.. hehe)

So.. since I haven't done my WORD for the year yet, I offered up the same challenge to my friends in our Face Book group. They had a week to complete this challenge. Totally voluntarily. I figured this was the perfect time to work on mine. Here ya go...

Yes, HOPE!! The saying on it reads " When the WORLD says give up, HOPE whispers try it one more time" -author unknown. This word is a BIG word to me. Sometimes when we let everything and everyone take control of our lives and it seems as there is no way out ... HOPE .. is always there. HOPE is something no one can take away.  So, when you feel like giving up or giving in... listen to HOPE as whispers to you.. "try one more time" ...

Materials used:
Acrylic Paints
Gesso
Templates from The Crafters Workshop
Charcoal Pencil
Faber Castell PITT artist pen
Gelli Plate
Speedball Roller
Decoupage
Water Color Crayons
Spray Fixative
**Nail Hole Patch**

** As the "thrifty" person I am... I hunted and hunted for something to use to add dimension to this project without spending $13.00 for modeling paste. The modeling paste IS the recommended "ingredient" but hey... I like to work outside that square box. :)  It dried nicely and didn't crack. ( I didn't apply super thick either.. I even sprayed Glimmermist on some and it didn't resist. so.. we shall see how it holds up.)

Thank you for visiting and maybe even reading my jumbled run on sentence post. :)  Try something new and keep HOPE close by. If you are interested in watching Tracy's show.. click "USTREAM" above and that will take you to her recordings and if you are online at 9pm EST.. it will take you to her live show.  Click Tracy's name above to go to her blog and see what the March challenge is.

DREAM tag

         Hey y'all and welcome back!!
I have been playing around a bit with a few different medias and came up with this "grungy" type tag. Let me tell ya, this was NOT easy for me as I'm a lace and pearls type of girl. I will say that I will definitely play around like this more often. I had no idea what direction I was going in.. I just rolled with it.

What do you think?

What did I do?? Well...(get yourself a beverage.. hehe)

I started with a tag I got from Staples and I put some Gesso on it. I took my floral frog ( don't laugh.. it worked like a charm and I grabbed whatever was closer)  and I "drug" it in the WET Gesso leaving lines. Dry it carefully with a heat gun or let it air dry.  Then, I put a dab of purple paint on my craft mat and sprayed a lil water in it .. using my Fiskars  "corrugated making tool" (no clue what the REAL name is of this tool), I ran a thick piece of card stock through it which left marks like the corrugated part of a cardboard box.( you can see it on the lil flag that has BIG stamped on it) This piece I dabbed in the ink and applied it to my tag. These are the purple line marks you see.( dry with heat gun or air dry)  Next, I pulled out my good 'ole Gina K Designs Stamp and stamped on the right side. I started in the middle of the right side and added a lil to the top right corner and bottom right. I stamped a whole flower on a piece of book text and cut it out. I glued it on the first stamped image. Again, I put a lil green paint on my craft mat and used a baby wipe and "dabbed" on my tag. This was just the color I needed. I used the pink Gellato and rubbed on my mat.. added a spray of water and using my paint brush, added a lil contrast using the lighter pink color. ( dry with heat gun or air dry)   Then... I took more of the purple and using Kinderstampo Stamps I stamped the letters on the dried purple paper and cut out lil boxes. I did add a lil of the pink as well.  I LOVE the different style letters in this set. I used the same piece of the purple corrugated paper I painted and stamped "BIG" in white ink and ink stitched around the lil flag. I inked the edges of the tag with a green. I attached the "DREAM" to the tag with pop dots and then using hot glue.. I attached the GORGEOUS "Sugar Plum" Rumple Ribbon I got from Lovebug Creations. I LOVE LOVE their selection and the prices and shipping times are AMAZING!!! The lil paper clip was from my stash and it fit nicely on the tag. I wanted to remind myself and others to DREAM BIG!! Heck, you never know where it may take you. I added some more of the Lovebug Creations Rumple Ribbon to the top to hang. This is the "On The Edge" collection.

So there.. now you have it...That my crafty friends.. is how I made this tag. :)  Whew.. that was NOT easy!! I mean.. the making it was but the explaining it was NOT!!  hehe

Now.. go get your crafty supplies out and make something!!! Remember.. you don't HAVE to buy things from ONLY the craft dept to use it on a project whether as a tool or embellie. :)

Thank you so much for stopping by. Come back to see the "LOVE" tag I have ready for ya next and wait till you see how EASY this was!! ;)
