Craftiest Mom Contest

Hi ya'll and thank you for visiting again!!

I have entered into a "Craftiest Mom Contest" on facebook and would LOVE your vote!! My daughter is my legacy. I LOVE crafting with my kiddos and hopefully Provo Craft will continue to make AWESOME products for them to continue what I teach them.

Click HERE  to vote for me!!

The Question was: Why are YOU The Craftiest Mom?
My Answer:
I got my Expression over 2 years ago and have not bought a card since. I make all birthday, anniversary, Christmas, etc cards and my BEST tool is my Cricut. :) I now have the Cricut Cake mini and the Imagine!! I love the new features with and without my Gypsy. My goal is to teach my daughter everything I know and for her to grow up to be my crafting buddy. I have introduced my 3 year old to the Cuttle Bug and he LOVES it as well. I think it is WONDERFUL to have our kids enjoy crafting and passing on good to others. In the end, that is what it is about.

My daughter left a comment saying :

Mom has taught me alot about crafting. She is FINALLY teaching me how to use her Gypsy with the machines. I have made my school projects go from BLAH to FABULOUS!!! Thanks to the Cricut, I get all A's on my projects. Thanks to my mom, I am loving a hobby that I can do for the rest of my life. Thank you Provo Craft for making machines that help people spend more time with their kids. My mom and I are alot closer now.

Thank you all in advance. It means alot to us.

 Happy Crafting!!
Hugs,
Tanya

Hero Blog Hop

Hello and Welcome to the HERO Blog Hop. This is a hop to support and bring awareness to the works of Operation Write Home. In addition to card makers making cards for service persons to send home to their families, OWH has what they call "Hero Mail". These cards can be any size, not just the usual A2 size cards. They also include a note to "ANY Hero". We call them HEROES because OWH covers all branches of the military. These are passed out to deployed heroes who may not get much mail, or just passed out to enjoy news from home. You can find more information  HERE .

You should have arrived here from Misty's Blog. She does great work doesn't she? If you just happened to stumble upon this hop, please start HERE!!!   We will have ALOT of wonderful cards and projects so you won't want to miss a stop!!!  Here is the line-up in case you get lost. :)

Cricut-Tastic Award

Hi ya'll and thanks for stopping by. I was roaming blogs and noticed my dear crafty pal  Annie had an award on her blog. I went to congratulate her and noticed she passed it onto me. (awwww) she is the sweetest!!

Here are the rules for the Cricut-tastic Award:

Your blog has been deemed Cricut-tastic. Wear this badge proudly on your blog and share it with your friends. Share this award with 10 people who you think have Cricut-tastic blogs. You also have to tell 5 cricut related things about yourself....

1. I bought my Expression 3 years ago and it stills "chirps" like it is new.
2. I purchased my Imagine a couple months ago, and am learning more about it. NO.. it will NEVER replace my Expression.
3. I started scrapbooking MANY years ago doing layouts.. now, I spend more time making cards. I LOVE spreading the "love" a handmade card brings.
4. My daughter is becoming a "Cricut-Aholic" as well. We love crafting together and sharing such a creative "hobby".

Now... onto my 10 people.. hmm.. (wish I could list like.. 50!! )

4. Eiyiyi

You should go visit these blogs and you will see why I think they are Cricut-Tastic!! There is amazing inspiration to be found!! Thanks again Annie for this great award!!

Thank you all for stopping by and hope you have a GREAT CRAFTY DAY!!!
Hugs,
Tanya

Zutter Distress It All

Hey ya'll!! I got a new tool and have to share!!!

I got the Zutter Distress It All!!! YES!!! Really...

Ok.. so, I do like it. It is noisy and takes a lil getting use to, but VERY effective!! You can do a small stack of paper at the same time!! No more cramped hand!!  I distressed a few sheets of watercolor paper for my inspiration journal and took a pic comparing the edges of the distressed papers and non distressed. LOVE IT!!!!  Do you have one? What do you think??

Isn't this a cute lil tin??

Not the best pic, but you can see the top pages are distressed and the bottom isn't!! I did those on the top at the same time!!!  So.. what do YOU think???

I just wanted to share this. :)  I was "skeptical" at first, but am loving it now. I purchased this from Ebay. Ye, my favorite place to shop. hehe... Let me know if you get one and what do YOU think about it?

Edited to add.. This could be dangerous around little people if left plugged in. Although the slot is little, little fingers CAN fit in the slot where the blade is. Please be cautious around children.

Happy Crafting!!!

Hugs,

Tanya

Nutella Banana Paninis

Ingredients   (  Bobby Flay)
  • 3 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 12 slices whole-wheat bread
  • 1 cup chocolate-hazelnut spread (recommended: Nutella)
  • 16 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 tablespoons confectioners' sugar

Directions

Place the bananas in a bowl and mash until smooth.
Place the slices of bread on a flat surface and spread each slice with some of the hazelnut spread. Spread the mashed banana over 6 of the slices and combine the slices to make 6 sandwiches.
Heat the grill to medium-high.
Spread 1 side of each sandwich with some of the butter and place on the grill, buttered-side down. Grill until golden brown. Spread the remaining butter on the bread facing up, flip over and continue grilling until golden brown. Remove from the grill and sprinkle with the confectioners' sugar. Eat immediately.

BIN LADEN IS DEAD... Thank our TROOPS event

If you haven't heard already, Osama Bin Laden is DEAD!!!
He is responsible for the THOUSANDS of mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, Aunt, Uncles, grandparents, friends... who were killed on 9-11. This is a victory to US Troops and those who lost a loved one due to the terrorist Bin Laden.
I have started a Face Book group and ask for EVERYONE to make a card to THANK OUR TROOPS!!!  I ask that we post them on our blogs and Face Book on Friday, May 6, 2011. This gives everyone a couple days to make one.
I am soo PROUD to be an AMERICAN!!

I can remember when I was a child and my dad went to Desert Shield/Storm. We ( 2 little sisters and 1 brother)  only had contact with my dad via snail mail. We watched as my mom cried every night .. not really understanding the seriousness of it all. As an adult, I understand my mother's tears.
THANK YOU to EVERY service man and woman and their families!!!
Hugs,
Tanya
