It's A Wrap Birthday Blog Hop

Hi ya'll and WELCOME to our Thankful Thursday " IT'S A WRAP" blog hop!! We are soo excited to show you the sooo many ways to make a gift special just by the wrapping!!! I'm sure you get tired of the same ole' thing, as we all do, and I just know you will get lots of ideas from all of the guests and DT members in this hop.

So, a month or so ago I saw an idea on Pinterest (I think.. sorry..) using a brown bag and a doilie. Well, I LOVED the look and thought.. hmmm I want something KINDA similar, but with pink and pearls and a tag. Well.. my sweet friend Boni raised her hand HIGH when I needed a friend to make a doilie a specific size. So, she made the gorgeous doilie on my wrapping and I just know my sweet friend who receives the gift inside will not only love what's inside, but have a great use for the yumminess outside!!! I LOVE pearls and decided to "thread" some pearls through the holes in the doilie and use to keep the doilie on the tissue paper.. instead of using tape or anything else. Worked like a charm!!! I pulled out the old trusted Bow Easy (which I found I had totally forgotten how to even use.. thank you Gina K ) I attached the bow to the doilie with a lil piece of thread that can be cut to use the doilie and the bow separately. (Yep, thinking ahead.. I'm soo on it..hehe) The flowers are Prima and the ribbon is PTI.

Here's my wrapping idea. You can change colors, use different embellishments, etc. I tried to keep it elegant yet simple. Sometimes less is best!!!

Isn't that doilie GORGEOUS!!!!! Thank you again Boni.. for helping me make this a specially wrapped gift for my sweet friend!!!

ONE shot in life

Hi again.. two posts in one day.. I know right!! LOL

So, I told you earlier about the "CREATIVE DARE" handed down by Tracy right?? Well, as I watched her show, I was also working on my contribution to the challenge. Those who were not there, Tracy logged on a bit early and showed us a bit about Gellatos.. I bought some from Michaels and soo wanted to know the difference between these and watercolor crayons... so, Tracy drug her gellatos out and gave a quick class. Well, as I colored and sprayed and wiped.. I was getting excited. Then I drug out the calligraphy pen and the black ink and went to town separating the stripes. oh.. you don't see that in the pic... keep reading!! The disaster comes VERY soon.. hehe So.. I'm adding little touches and as OCD as I am, I see a spot of red gellato in the white section and here comes the disaster.. The baby wipe I TRIED to use to touch up the white... well, I drug it though the NOT DRY black in and the red gellato on the canvas!!! YES!!! I totally messed it up and was ready to toss it!! Well.. I didn't toss it.. I used oh.. about 10 more baby wipes and wiped down the whole thing!!! Funny thing is.. I had NO CLUE the red would stain!!! THIS was exciting as I wiped and wiped!!! I wiped faster and faster ready to see what was under the disaster I created. Imagine.. red and black smeared all over an 8X10 canvas.. ughh So.. I got it all wiped down and of course missed half of the chat... but LOVED the canvas I was left with!!! Who knew?? So.. what do you think about my disaster turned gorgeous??

I LOVE how "dull" the red is!! The blue heart pops and although my writing isn't the best.. I do like it written in white!! So.. see how a disaster can turn LOVELY!! I wish I had taken photos of it during the hot mess!!!

"FLY"

Well, I've had alot going on lately and my creativity has definitely been challenged as well. (this is a good thing) My hubby's daughter graduated and I wanted to make her something to remind her that although her "comfy" level has definitely changed... don't be afraid to FLY!! Taking chances and learning new things is part of it. I want her to know that we all have to start somewhere and as long as she TRIES it.. she won't regret not trying it. So.. here is the canvas I made her.

My friend, Tracy, even featured my canvas on her blog!!! Be sure to go check out her blog. She has inspired me to spread my wings and FLY!! As a crafter, we often get in a rut. We get tired of the same ole thing and look for something more. Let me tell you... Tracy has challenged me to reach outside my comfort level and try something new. Guess what... I'm LOVIN it!!! So last night when Tracy gave us the quote challenge, Tracy said she didn't care HOW the quote was used. See, some people may not like canvas and prefers cards.. or even layouts.. well, here's how I used the quote. **Hubby was not harmed during the writing of this quote**

Yes, I have the BESTEST hubby in the world!!! Notice the sun burn!!!!

Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day!!!

Welcome again to my blog. Today is our Paper Hoarders Design Team Day and we are honoring those fallen heroes. Being a military brat, this holiday is near and dear to my heart. Our design team did an awesome job remembering. A couple even did a layout in honor of their grand fathers. :) Be sure to click their name and visit their blog. They LOVE comments. :)

Paper Hoarders DT Mother's Day/ Spring

Hello ya'll and welcome back to another Paper Hoarders Design Team post!! (sorry this is late!! Technical difficulties out of my control)

I want to first wish all of you MOMS a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! As a mom, every day isn't flowers and candy, but every day IS new beginning. Cherish the relationships with your mom's and your children. Time flies and unexpected events happen. So.. give your kiddos the BEST of you every day!!!

So, having said that... our Design Team has created wonderful works of art for their mom's and or children. If you need ideas... this post will surely WOW you.
